  1. Thank you so much. My 4 year old was just diagnosed 4 days ago. I am pretty overwhelmed and you do not know how much it means that you took the time to post this list with Halloween coming up.

  2. But, please, what is the sugar imtake of these candies like for someone who is Gluten AND sugar free due to Lyme disease??? Is there a gluten/sgar free list? I can’t find one. I find SO MANY gluten free foods loaded with sugar. She will not be excluded and will enjoy Halloween with tehr peers. Thank goodness she ia excited about the candy fairy who will collect her candy and leave her a very special gift in exchange.

  3. This is awesome! I only heard reeses peanut butter cups were gluten free, but this list is amazing! Thank you for putting it together.

  4. how about tic tacs?

  5. Great work on the list. I will link your page on my Food Allergies group on Facebook. My grandkids have many allergies and food sensitivities, more than the 8 that are listed (example; corn, coconut, bananas and legumes). We have tried some of these products and we have had some negative reactions so your warning to read the labels is a very good point. For example; Some of these products contain artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, and some natural fruits and cocoa butters which are high in salicylates that can affect some kids behaviors and hyperactivity. (See for more information on food sensitivities). So buyer beware and be sure to read labels.

  6. Do you have a list of candies which are also corn free in addition to gluten, casein and soy?

  7. I’m sorry Tracey, I do not. Most candy unfortunately has corn. 🙁

  8. I just found this site today thanks to a fellow food allergy mom. YOU ROCK!!! Thank you so much for taking the time, energy and effort to compile this list!

  9. THANK-YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I am doing the usual “research” of my sons Halloween candy without ingredients, on the package…..Takes alot of time. I just stumbled on your site on my last piece of Halloween candy. Thank-you for those hard to find candies. 🙂 This site touched my heart!

  10. This is awesome. I am a breastfeeding mommy and currently finding out that my daughter has a sensitivity to something. We are thinking dairy… but while we are trying to figure it out, it’s nice to know I don’t have to ignore my sweet tooth. Halloween without candy was ROUGH.

Being a teacher I have had kids in the past that have gluten and dairy allergies. When we would do treats during holiday parties it was sad to not include candy, but this helps!! Thank you!:)

  11. Thank you. This list is so appreciated.

  12. Thanks for the awesome, inclusive list. One visit to your site and we were able to separate the dairy containing Halloween candy easily from the safe stuff. Thanks!

  13. The new companion book to The Allergy-Free Cook Bakes Bread is now out….The Allergy-Free Cook Bakes Cakes & Cookies. For all those with gluten and other allergies, you don’t have to deny these baked pleasures anymore! A digital sampler is available for review and hopefully you will recommend buying the book to your readers. Let me know if you need a hard copy. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Mary Ellen, 931-964-3571 and

  14. Just thought I’d add… Jelly Belly uses shared equipment with tree nuts (though they now say peanut-free facility) for anyone with tree nut allergies.

  15. Thank you for your helpful list! As you mentioned with American smarties (Ce De Candy Company), if you cannot confirm the UPC# on the bag, you cannot assume the smarties to be safe. Many of their re-baggers are NOT nut free, and there can be cross contamination. My daughter (who is tree nut and peanut allergic) had a reaction to a smarties candy that she ate at a party. The allergen labeling is not included on the individual candy wrapper, and the bag the candies came in had already been thrown away so we couldn’t confirm the UPC#. (We only know that it was bought at Walmart). Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to consider this candy safe. Thank you.

  16. How about a list without Corn Syrup? My daughter is allergic to that!

  17. Hi Dee,
I have considered this for the past few years but the problem is that manufacturers are not required by law to list corn, so I worry that even though it’s not on the label, it could still be in the candy. I will still think about it though!!
