Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin October Meeting

Our next meeting of the Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin will take place on Monday, October 4th at 7:00.

The first topic of the night will be “Owning Your Diagnosis.” What does it mean to own your celiac diseaseĀ  or gluten intolerance diagnosis? Sheila will fill you in! Later on, Alison will share her annual safe Halloween candy list, updated for 2010!

We will welcome guests Tom Herndon and Willie Victor, creators of Hipp Kitchen, who will tell us about their upcoming events. Tom Herndon is a personal chef and Willie Victor is a nutritionist. Hipp Kitchen creates dining, recreational, and educational experiences for people with food allergies and sensitivities. We will also welcome Rose Anne DeCristoforo from Natural Food Works Farmer’s Kitchen Cafe in Davis who is bringing gluten-free casein-free samples!

Whether you have Celiac Disease, are gluten-sensitive, or are learning more about gluten free living for yourself, family or friends, we look forward to seeing you at the October 4th meeting of the Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin! New members are welcome.

Our next meeting of the Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin will take place on Tuesday, August 10 at 7:00. As always, there will be food to taste, samples, and raffle prizes!

The first topic of the night will be “Gluten and Skin Conditions — Are They Related?” Is there a connection between gluten and skin problems? Come and find out! The second topic of the night will be “GF Pizza 101.” What are your pizza options? Learn and share the brands available in the stores, restaurants that are doing gf pizza and how to make it yourself!

Also, we will welcome guest Cameo Edwards of Crave Bakery, who will be sharing her story and some of her gluten-free, dairy-free baked goods! Yummy!

Sheila Wagner, PT, CN has been an Orthopedic Physical Therapist for 29 years. Our next meeting of the Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin will take place on Monday, June 7th at 7:00. As always, there will be food to taste, samples, and raffle prizes!

The first topic of the night will be “Could It Be Gluten?” Sheila will discuss some of the less talked about connections between various symptoms and gluten. Do you have any unusual symptoms that went away with the gluten?

The second topic of the night will be “Traveling Gluten-Free: Tips for a Worry-Free Vacation” To kick off the summer, Alison will share some of her own travel tips and allow time for others to share theirs.
